Sebastian Levi Mardon

Can I introduce you to my sweet little man?

Just like any Mumma when she's had a baby, I want to show my Sebby off. I am busting to share with you our newest addition, tell you about all his little features - his nose, his lips, his toes... even if this is the one and only time I'll get to share photos. There won't be updates of when he's 6 months old, or at his first birthday. So I'm going to be a proud Mummy now while I have the chance.

Here's my angel boy...

These stunning photos were taken by Rachel Richter Photography only 2 hours after Seb was born. Rachel was amazing! It was Fathers Day and she just dropped whatever she was doing and came. Rach, I'm forever grateful. These are so so precious to me.

We had the most beautiful few hours with our little Sebby. Jaidyn, Eli and Lani all got to hold and kiss their baby brother. We cried too, but mostly we just loved him, and loved each other. It turned out to be the perfect Fathers Day - the perfect gift for any Dad. My Mum and Dad met their little grandson, and both my sisters also came up and held him.

Now let me tell you all about our little Sebby...

I want to tell you about his head of hair. It might just explain the heartburn I had for the whole pregnancy where previously I'd only had it at the end. He had a good crop of ashy-brown hair, about 1.5cm in length maybe. And I think it was even a little curly - or it would have been. My hair perhaps?

I want to tell you about his adorable little button nose. We all fell in love and couldn't help but reach out and touch it. Its my cute button nose of course!

And let me tell you about his sweet, thin, little rosebud lips, so rosy that Lani commented that he was wearing lipstick!

And his feet? Oh his beautiful, beautiful feet. His big toe was slightly smaller than his 2nd toe, something I only noticed in the photos we had taken. That's his Daddy's feet. How perfect. Mummy's nose and Daddy's feet.
I sort of have this thing for little baby hands and feet. I love to touch them and play with them. And his feet were just so perfect. I held them against my fingers and it came to my middle knuckle on my pointer. I will always have that reminder of how little and how sweet they were. I played with those feet for hours. I could hardly get enough. I told myself as we left the hospital that I needed to keep those feet, and so I organised to have some casts made. One pair for a frame on the wall, and I'll get one pair I can keep in a box and play with when I need to.

Seb was a teeny 1.35kg born. He was 38cm long and his head was 28cm around. I had my friend make him the sweetest little crochet beanie and we both swore it would be too small. I saw him in at his funeral service and it fits perfectly.

We said our goodbyes, but we know that we will see our sweet baby boy again one day. Of that I have no doubt. We know that he is with Jesus now, and that he will be waiting for us up in Heaven. That one day we will be reunited and what a sweet day that will be.

Revelation 21:1-4
Then I saw 'a new heaven and a new earth', for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
